Currently, I am finishing up my last semester at the University of WI-River Falls and will be graduating with a major in Agricultural Business and a minor in Agronomy. Some of my current activities include Ag Business and Marketing Society, Dairy Club, and Crop and Soils Club. I am also busy with fund raising for Relay for Life this spring in River Falls. In addition to these activities, I have taken a full time job with an agronomic company in Ellsworth, Wisconsin as a sales agronomist and currently work part-time and attend classes. I will be starting full-time in the spring following graduation from UWRF. I look forward to gaining knowledge in the industry through this position and sharing my knowledge with producers on a local level. This position will help me form a great foundation in the industry for my future career plans.
My future activities post-graduation include enjoying my new career as an agronomist. I also look forward to joining some civic organizations in the local community in which I will be working. Meanwhile, I hope to keep expanding my network of professional contacts through the ASA and other
various organizations related to my field.
Impact of GO program
The GO program really opened my eyes to the many avenues available to the undergrad and graduate student. It is exciting to know that Agriculture, especially agronomy has great potential for professional
career development from so many various resources. Networking with these resources and seeking guidance from these individuals was very valuable. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the national joint meeting and I will keep in touch with many of the contacts I met. It will prove to be of great value for me as I consider attaining a Master's in the foreseeable future.
